Renovated Farm House

Project: Renovated Farm House
Location: Warner, NH

When db Landscaping  LLC visited the property for the first time, we immediately recommended a functional site solution that included moving the driveway. The old driveway was originally sandwiched between the house and the barn, but we thought it would be more beneficial to realign the driveway behind the buildings to create a more connected courtyard between the buildings and a more welcoming yet informal entryway that complimented the architecture of the house.  db Landscaping LLC  proposed an entryway paved in granite cobblestone inlaid with ledgestone along with large, flat-topped boulders placed for seating. Grading at this site was extensive; a deck that originally connected the ground by staircase is now almost at-grade. The large deck was designed with planters to allow birch trees to grow through the deck openings. Machine-laid retaining walls helped to create more useable landscape space on what was previously a steep slope. Gardens were planted throughout the landscape. Plants in front of the house, under the eaves, were specially chosen for their ability to handle heavy snow loads. Perennial plantings adds more color and texture to the landscape.
